These photographs are from a series of photographs I took in Williamsburgh NY. The series was "places you could hide". I kept finding hidden areas where I thought I could find someone hiding, living, running away to, or having just left from residing.

these pictures were taken at the MoMa!!!!! T'was a fun day with the class. I like the cones a lot because it looks like something you would find on an alien planet in a desert. An Alien Desert. Hmm, title perhaps? I do not know! Enjoi!

this man is absolutely fantastic. he got jealous when i asked the woman sitting next to him if i could photograph her and expressed his full personality to show me what a great subject he was. he we full of gestures a kept talking about the 70s and how everyone in the 70s would have let you take a picture of them. i wish i had asked his name.

Diane Arbus Inspiration

In class yesterday my group of four people and I looked through photos by Diane Arbus. We came across a black and white photograph of a young flower girl at a wedding. After describing it with adjectives such as dark, mysterious, taunting, and foggy, we went to Union Square to create our own photographs portraying similar adjectives. These are two of the photos we came up with. The contrast is very important in helping to express the mysteriousness. In both images, the expression of the subjects is important in portraying the feeling of Arbus's photography.
